How i can have a FM radio station?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under fm radio | No Comments »

I have a farm in mountains and there is no any communication. I would like to establishe a FM radio there. Two small station with 2KM radius. and two FM radio for receiving the waves. How can i build it? Any idea?

If you are just listening to music, it would be a lot easier to get a boom box. If you want 2-way communications, a CB can be gotten at Radio Shack.

If you want to establish a radio station, low power FM is the way to go. It costs about $250 k to set up the station and about $100 k per year to operate it.

I have a philips wireless streamium device so I can save a url on the Clubphilips website and then play a radio station that I have saved over my wireless network to the lounge where the streamium device is connected to a speaker system.
I have tried using url’s from the websites where they broadcast via players and webpages to pc’s but that does not work .
I understand that if they play on windows media player it will also stream to my device so I just need a methiod of obtain the url’s.

who decides what gets played on mainstream radio/music shows and how do you get your music played on there?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under radio music | 1 Comment »

I know about that payola BS and that most mainstream stations have only about 400 songs in their library per week. So who decides what gets played on radio? Because I’m sure some songs would get popular if they got play

It depends on the station. Some rely more on pre-programming, some on the Billboard charts, and some are more DJ-chosen. Call up a station that’s more DJ-chosen and ask them to play something. As listeners listen, they will be more likely to re-request something that has had recent airplay.

If you’re in a band, send them a comp copy, and then call them in a week and ask, "Hey, do you have __ by __? Could you play it?"

can i download live radio onto an mp3 file?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under live radio | 1 Comment »

i was wondering if i could get an mp3 file that streams live radio of course you need internet but if i can get an mp3 that streams live radio how would i get it?

An .mp3 is a file, and cannot stream anything. You could however get a program that could stream live radio, or even stream live by using an internet application. If there is a specific station you want to listen to, the radio station’s website probably has a way to listen to their broadcasts.

What are (if any) the German internet radio stations that play modern pop songs mainly in German?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under internet radio | 2 Comments »

I am trying to find German music. I want to experience something new, and besides I studied German language in college; I liked it. I went through German/Austrian internet radio stations and surprisingly – there are basically no (modern) songs in German!!! You must listen half an hour to music in English until you finally get to hear something in German, and that’s on the so called German radio stations! I hope I didn’t find the right ones, otherwise I could only feel sad for such situation.

that’s pretty much how it is in europe – songs are mostly in english and movies are mostly translations of american films. i suggest going to youtube and just looking up german music

How come Atlanta and Detroit have the same radio stations?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under radio stations | 1 Comment »

Well I’m from Ann Arbor, Michigan and the radio stations up there are from Detroit and the main ones are like 95.5 and 97.9 and they have the exact same stations in ATL with the same genres so wats up with that lol.

They just have the same station numbers. Now, they could possibly be the same station, like Ryan Seacrest and Delilah are played nationwide, but they pre record station numbers and areas so it ONLY sounds like your city it is being recognized by them…
