I don’t know whats up with the negative thumbs down reviews but yeah I hear what your saying. I was born in ‘89. The 90’s were good years but it must be pretty cool for the 60’s kids.

Both Rochester (11/5/77) and Binghamton (11/6/77) Jack Straws were red hot. Compare the Half-Steps, too….

  16. JackStraw65 Says:

    Syracuse Carrier …
Syracuse Carrier Dome ‘84 they closed the first set with JStraw – a blaring, rip-roaring, arguably messy rave-up where they kept escalating the final jam – just when you thought that had to bring it home with “Jack Straw from Wichita!…” they just kept turning the coda over and over, louder and louder. When it finally exploded with “cut his buddy down – BAM!” it’s like the whole dome lifted up in the air. I couldn’t believe that one, it was orgasmic, the place was shaking, what a set closer.

Interesting, that Cornell show of ‘77 is the very best bootleg tape I have. A crazy show. I have the second set, not the first with JStraw. I’d love to get a clean version of that show.

after buying Europe ‘72 i thought i would never again buy a rock album, because nothing could be better. since then i have purchased albums, then cd’s but it has been almost 4 decades and i am not sure any were better.

  22. npspec34 Says:

    As an aside, Europe …
As an aside, Europe 72 was a Classic Album from which much of the bootleg craze flowed. The Dead of the 80’s would not have existed without the momentum that Europe 72 generated and the fact that people are not aware of that is disturbing and goes to show that anyone with a keyboard and a computer can post anything. “One man gone and another to go, my old buddy you’re moving much too slow.”
    Indeed!
